Overview
TigerBites is a web app that sends users push notifications to students when dining halls across Princeton University campus are serving their favorite foods. To begin, users can select their preferences from a drop down menu which can be searched and sorted by category. From then on, a notification will pop up half an hour before the meal opens if any of the user’s food choices are being served.
The aim of the project is for students across campus to have easier access to their favorite foods without having to constantly check menus. Often, sleep deprived students would really like to eat their favorite omelette or a particular pastry with their cappuccino, but they do not have the energy to search each dining hall menu to see if there is something similar to what they would want. Students can download this app at the beginning of their freshman year and have the ability to make the best decision about where to eat for as long as they use the dining halls.
